Gord Garbutt

 1 NHL Game

March 18, 1981 Edmonton Oilers vs Minnesota North Stars. 5-3 win.

March, 1981 the Edmonton Oilers ran into some goaltending problems. The team was already down a goalie with an injured Ron Low when Eddie Mio was sidelined with a fractured finger. Gary Edwards was left as the starting goalie but was also battling injuries and it wasn't clear if would be able to dress. Gord Garbutt was quickly recalled from the IHL's Milwaukee Admirals to dress as backup to Edwards. After just one game, Garbutt was reassigned to the CHL's Wichita Wind in favour of Andy Moog, who was reassigned to the Oilers from the Wind. Garbutt dressed in a 5-3 Oilers win. Garbutt's teammate, Wayne Gretzky, had 4 points.
