Andre LePage

1 NHL Game

October 22, 1976 New York Islanders vs Detroit Red Wings. 0-5 loss.

Andre LePage was a two-time QMJHL all-star with the Drummondville Rangers. He was drafted by the NHL's New York Islanders and WHA's Quebec Nordiques in 1975, signing with the Islanders. He spent four years as a pro hockey player and had one brief stint in the NHL.

I was able to get in touch with LePage and inquire about his stint with the Islanders.
"I, indeed, dressed up 'as the official Backup' for a game in Detroit," said LePage. "Chico (Resch) was the starting goalie. Billy’s (Smith) father had passed away, as far as I remember, so he went home for the funeral."

LePage was recalled again by the Islanders during the 1977 NHL playoffs to serve as an extra goalie.
