J.P. Anderson spent five years in the OHL. The undrafted goalie's NHL stint came right in the middle of his junior career.

18 year old J.P. Anderson signed with the San Jose Sharks as a free agent when he impressed them at a rookie training camp. "We really like what J.P. has shown us and we think he has tremendous upside," said San Jose GM Doug Wilson. Anderson was returned to his junior team in the OHL but received a surprise call January, 2011. With both Antero Niitymaki and Alex Stalock injured the Sharks recalled Anderson from Mississauga on an emergency basis to dress as Antti Niemi's backup. "It's pretty awesome to be right here right next to the action," said Anderson during a game time interview.  "I'm just trying to soak it all in an learn as much as I can and just watch these guys handle their business on a day to day basis."

In 2014 Anderson was promoted to San Jose's AHL affiliate. The second year pro has yet to get back on the Sharks' roster.
