John Reid

2 NHL Games

January 7, 1989 Chicago Blackhawks vs Washington Capitals. 3-6 loss.
January 8, 1989 Chicago Blackhawks vs New York Islanders. 3-2 win.

The Chicago Blackhawks drafted John Reid in 1985. He spent the next two years in the OHL before making the jump to pro.

Early January, 1989 the Blackhawks lost goalie Darren Pang to a hamstring injury. John Reid was recalled from the IHL to serve as Chicago's second goaltender. He dressed as backup to a young Ed Belfour. Reid would have lasted more than two games with the Hawks but he broke a bone in his hand during a team practise. With Reid sidelined, Chicago recalled another goalie, Chris Clifford, and Reid's NHL career came to an end.

Reid was left unsigned by the Blackhawks and retired from pro hockey following the 1991/92 season.
