Greg Moffett

October 22, 1983 Montreal Canadiens vs Toronto Maple Leafs. 3-5 loss.


   Greg Moffett spent four years at the University of New Hampshire before starting his pro hockey career. He was a 1979 NCAA All-Star and that summer was drafted by the Montreal Canadiens. 

   Early into the 1983/84 NHL season the Montreal Canadiens ran into some goaltending issues. On October 20th, Rick Wramsley twisted his ankle in a game agains the Minnesota North Stars. While Wamsley recovered the Habs recalled Greg Moffett from their AHL affiliate. Moffett dressed in 1 NHL game as a backup to Richard Sevigny. Moffett was quickly returned to the Nova Scotia Voyageurs. 

   Moffett won the 1984/1985 Calder Cup Championship with the Sherbrooke Canadiens as Patrick Roy's backup. 

   January, 1986 Greg Moffett joined the AHL's Maine Mariners when they faced a goaltending shortage. He spent some time as their backup and at season's end retired from pro hockey for good. 

   Moffett earned a law degree in 1989. He has become a successful lawyer in Concord, New Hampshire.
