Jari Paavola

2 NHL Games

February 3, 1982 Buffalo Sabres vs Boston Bruins. 2-5 loss.
February 7, 1982 Buffalo Sabres vs New York Islanders. 7-3 win.

In the 1980 World Juniors tournament Jari Paavola was named top goaltender as he helped Team Finland capture a silver medal. He caught the attention of NHL teams and was drafted by the Sabres that summer.
When Jacques Cloutier suffered a broken collar bone early February, 1982 the Sabres were forced to recall Finnish netminder Jari Paavola from the Flint Generals. Paavola served as Don Edwards' backup until Buffalo claimed experienced NHL goalie Paul Harrison off waivers from the Pittsburgh Penguins.
