January 8, 1969 Philadelphia Flyers vs Toronto Maple Leafs. 4-4 tie. 



   Peter Sternig was a SJHL All-Star in his last season of junior hockey with the Regina Pats. The following summer he was invited to the Montreal Canadiens 1965 training camp. He turned pro that season and a couple years later was signed by the Philadelphia Flyers.

   Sternig was recalled to the Phiadelphia Flyers on two separate occasions during the 1968/69 NHL season. He dressed as a backup goalie to Bernie Parent in November and later as a backup to Doug Favell in January.
