3 NHL Games

November 18, 2019 Washington Capitals vs Anaheim Ducks. 5-2 win.
February 4, 2020 Washington Capitals vs Los Angeles Kings. 4-2 win.

With Braden Holtby playing well, the Washington Capitals decided to send their young backup goalie Ilya Samsonov to the AHL to get some playing time. Vanacek was recalled from the AHL to replace Samsonov on Washington's roster for two games.
