When rookie goalie Anton Forsberg failed to make an impression in the NHL, the Blue Jackets sent him to the minors and recalled Oscar Dansk. Dansk dressed one game as backup to Curtis McElhinney. Dansk had a short stay in Columbus because Sergei Bobrovsky returned to the team after missing 15 games due to a groin injury.

Oscar Dansk was the third goalie selected in the 2012 NHL draft. In 2013 he helped Sweden win a silver medal at the World Junior Championships. A year later he once again helped Sweden capture a silver medal. Dansk was also named 2014 World Junior Championships Best Goaltender. May, 2014 the Blue Jackets signed Dansk to a three-year, entry-level contract.
